“Creation 9707” Symposium in Hong Kong
“World Class Brands, Hong Kong Creativity”

2007 marks Hong Kong’s first decade of reunification with China. In celebration of this historic milestone, ten world-renowned brands have united with ten accomplished designers from Hong Kong. The purpose behind this unprecedented union expounds the possibilities of using such creative partnerships as a conduit to convey the sheer creative talent that is present in Hong Kong. In this unique crossover project, named Creation 9707, the ten designers have applied outstanding craftsmanship to develop ten highly unique products that integrate elements of Hong Kong design into the essence of internationally coveted brands.

The symposium offers an explorative look into the processes and creative exchange between notable brands and designers; discussion about the finished products; thoughts on Hong Kong design, its creative and commercial viability; the role of Hong Kong; discussions about brand essence, the secrets of brand success and thoughts on products as tools for bridging cultures. Ten brand representatives will join the ten individual designers to participate in discussions on this intriguing occasion.

Theme
Focusing on the theme “World Class Brands, Hong Kong Creativity”, the symposium will cover the following topics: 

  • Introduction of 10 “Creation 9707” cases
  • Assets and essence of world class brands
  • View of the world class brands towards oriental designs
  • The positioning of Hong Kong design on the global stage
  • How quality design enhances brand value
